Commercial property loans on the decline
24/12/08
Loans for commercial property investors are on the decline based on latest published figures. Figures suggest that the total loans issued in the first third of 2007 were more than the first half of this year highlighting a considerable shift in the commercial loan market. The actual value of loans for the first six months of 2008 had dropped to £24.6 billion. This level of data study was undertaken by De Monfort University as part of their Lending Review shows into the UK commercial mortgage market.
The future for this market does not look as though it is likely to improve with market news of recession hits on large organisations and retailers. Also figures such as 38% of organisations were looking to increase loan originations in comparison to the 55% who claimed this at the end of 2007.
